Hunter Edgens has been coaching football and baseball at Central High School since 2016, primarily working with the offensive line and spending one season coaching running backs.

A graduate of Central’s Class of 2013, Hunter went on to attend Louisiana College, where he continued his football career. He has been a part of two state championship baseball coaching staffs in 2017 and 2018, and he attributes his passion for coaching to the mentors he had while growing up in Central, such as David Lesage and Ken Worsham.

Hunter currently resides in Central with his wife, Bailey, to whom he has been married for nearly a year. He has a 5-year-old stepson named Abel, who shares his love of sports, and they are expecting their first child, a son named Easton, in the fall. Their family also includes two Labrador Retrievers, Hazel and Annie.

When not coaching at Central, Hunter coaches an 11-year-old baseball team for the Pelicans Baseball Club. Outside of sports, he enjoys hunting, fishing, playing golf, woodworking, and maintaining his yard.
